Candidate filing for Union County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor (1seat) begins at noon on Monday, June 10, 2024 and ends at noon on Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Union County Board of Elections located at 316-B East Windsor Street in Monroe.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old, a registered voter in Union County, and pay a $5 filing fee. Filing fees must be paid by credit or debit card.

This seat is nonpartisan, so no primary is required. The election will be held during the regular November 5, 2024 General Election.

Early voting for the May 14, 2024, second primary election begins on Thursday, April 25 and ends on Saturday, May 11 at the Main Branch of the Union County Public Library Griffin Room at 316 E. Windsor Street in Monroe.

WHEREAS, NC General Statue 163-234(2) states that a county board of elections shall meet at 5:00 p.m.

WHEREAS, upon a resolution adopted by the county board of elections and approved by the Executive Director of the State Board, voters from a given precinct may be temporarily transferred, for the purpose of voting, to an adjacent precinct.

The statewide second primary will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Election Day. Voters must go to their assigned precinct on Election Day.

WHEREAS, General Statute 163-230.1(f) states that county board of elections shall hold public meetings commencing on the fifth Tuesday before an election at 5:00 p.m.

This is an official notice of an election to be conducted in Union County on 05/14/2024. This notice contains a list of all of the ballot measures and federal, State, and local offices this county expects, as of this date, to be on the ballot on the date of the election.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the regular meeting of the Union County Board of Elections scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 4 p.m. has been cancelled. The Board's next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 4 p.m. at the Board of Elections office located at 316-B East Windsor Street in Monroe, NC 28112.

WHEREAS, the Union County Board of Elections has the power to establish, alter, discontinue, or create such new election precincts or voting places as it may deem expedient in accordance with North Carolina General Statue 163-128(a); and

WHEREAS, the Union County Board of Elections has inspected said voting site to ensure the site is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and
